The 2017 Fall Season begins our 30th year!
In December 1996, the Chamber Singers, along with the Grove City High School Symphonic Band, was the first choral group ever to sing at the prestigious Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois. In 1999, they were the select choral group to sing at the State Christmas Tree Lighting with then Governor George Voinovich. Many of our singers traveled to Innsbruck, Austria in 2001 to perform the Mozart Requiem at the Innsbruck International Choral Music Festival. In 2003, the Grove City Chamber Singers combined with the Columbus Chamber Singers to sing during a mass at the Vatican in Rome, as well as full concerts in Florence and Venice, Italy. In the summer of 2016, some members traveled to Cost Rica with Columbus Capriccio members to tour and sing. The group has also performed the National Anthem at such venues as Columbus Clippers, Columbus Crew, and Cincinnati Reds games.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
To give adult singers the opportunity to sing a variety of quality choral literature in traditional choral settings at various events in the community, as well as major concerts each year.
To support the goal of our mission statement, our yearly performance opportunities include caroling during the Christmas season in Victorian attire, singing at a Christmas Eve service, performing two major concerts in the fall and spring, singing the National Anthem at community events, as well as other performances upon request.
*Rehearsals take place on Sunday evenings at the Grove City United Methodist Church, generally beginning on the first Sunday after Labor Day, and ending in March or April with the spring concert.
